Next Sunday, I’ll be preaching on Matthew 14.22-33 next Sunday. In this passage, Matthew tells the story of Jesus walking on the sea and Peter’s attempt to step out of the boat and walk to him. As you probably know, Peter’s attempt ends badly. There’s a lot going on in this passage and any number of sermons could be preached. (Don’t worry, I’m working to limit myself to just one.)
The other two scripture readings are Genesis 45.1-15 and Romans 11.1-2a, 29-32. We’ll be singing the following hymns: O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing, Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord You Have Come to the Lakeshore, and How Great is Our God.
