You Have Made Me a Better Preacher

I want to take a moment and thank everyone who has shared a kind word with me about the worship services in general and my sermons in particular. I want to thank you not only for your kindness but for what you do to make our worship services together what they are. In the end, the quality of a church’s worship services depends a great deal upon the nature of the congregation. Based on my own experience and conversations with others, I’ve arrived at the conclusion that it is very difficult to preach a good sermon to an unsupportive congregation. I’m convinced that your welcoming and supportive nature has led not only to better preachers, but better choirs, better praise bands, better liturgists (scripture readers), better accompanists, better soloists, etc. The measure you have gotten back is the measure you have given.
