We just finished the Service of Tenebrae for Good Friday. I thought of a few improvements that I wanted to post here in hopes that someone would remind me before next year’s service (by which time I will have forgotten them).
- Move the pulpit in the chapel south so that people on the south side of the aisle may have a better view of the altar and Tenebrae candles.
- Either make the transitions between readings quicker or lengthen them to allow for a moment of silent meditation after each reading.
- Try to find some way that Jenny and I aren’t getting up and down, up and down, up and down. (Perhaps we could remove the pulpit entirely and read the scriptures from the front pew?)
- Turn the pupit mic around so that the green light doesn’t show.
- Make sure the Power Point remote doesn’t get sat upon.
Feel free to let Jenny or me know if you have any other suggestions.
