Tenebrae Service Improvements

We just finished the Service of Tenebrae for Good Friday. I thought of a few improvements that I wanted to post here in hopes that someone would remind me before next year’s service (by which time I will have forgotten them).

  1. Move the pulpit in the chapel south so that people on the south side of the aisle may have a better view of the altar and Tenebrae candles.
  2. Either make the transitions between readings quicker or lengthen them to allow for a moment of silent meditation after each reading.
  3. Try to find some way that Jenny and I aren’t getting up and down, up and down, up and down. (Perhaps we could remove the pulpit entirely and read the scriptures from the front pew?)
  4. Turn the pupit mic around so that the green light doesn’t show.
  5. Make sure the Power Point remote doesn’t get sat upon.

Feel free to let Jenny or me know if you have any other suggestions.
