Question and Answer Sunday

I’ll be out of the office on vacation Monday, July 15 through July 20, but I’ll be back in worship on July 21. I plan to have “Question and Answer Sunday” once again for the sermon. You’ll be able to ask questions out loud, on paper, and by text. Please have questions, I love doing my best to answer them.

About Laughing Together in Worship

I’ve been thinking about how often we laugh together in worship. (Especially when Kevin Wanklyn is worship leader.) I think this is entirely appropriate. We come to worship to strengthen not only our relationships with God, but also our relationships with one another. I was happy to find that Dallas Willard, who is known for his wisdom when it comes to spiritual formation, agrees. Here’s what he has to say in his book The Divine Conspiracy: Rediscovering Our Hidden Life in God:

“Genuine shared laughter is one of the surest ways for human beings to come together and break the stalemates of life. It is essential to genuine community.” [1]

We’re not just laughing together, we’re building a better Christian community.
