The Church Council, met Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Reports were received on various and sundry ongoing projects including the expansion of the children’s Sunday School, the restoration and weatherproofing being performed by Mid-West Continental Restoration.
Upon the news that the conference program for the prevention of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse against children, youth, and vulnerable adults can now be completed online, it was decided to require conference certification of everyone who works with children and youth by July 2013. Since the training costs $30 (which covers various background checks) the church will provide scholarships for the full cost. The church computer will be made available for anyone without internet access and assistance in walking through the process will be given to those who need it.
