Come Ye Sinners

openroadTodd Agnew’s “Come Ye Sinners” seemed to be a natural choice for this evening’s Ash Wednesday service. Lent is about returning to God and preparing to celebrate the resurrection. This stanza seemed particularly appropriate.

Come ye weary, and heavy-laden
Lost and ruined by the fall
And if you tarry until you’re better
You will never come at all

There is no point in waiting, we cannot get better without God’s help.
