Traveling By A Road I Do Not Know

Having found myself weary and worn, I’m currently taking a year of leave from serving as a pastor for rest, recovery, and renewal to attend to physical and mental health issues that require time and focused care. I plan to return to active service in a new appointment on July 1, 2027. Posting will probably be very light until I return. The new name of the blog is a paraphrase of Isaiah 42:16:

“I will lead the blind by a road they do not know;
by paths they have not known I will guide them.
I will turn the darkness before them into light,
the rough places into level ground.
These are the things I will do, and I will not forsake them.” (NRSVue)

As this is the first year since 1994 that I’m not serving as the pastor of a local church, I’ve found myself returning to this passage again and again. I’m in uncharted territory, traveling a road I have not been down before, but I know and trust that God is with me.
