Introducing Your New Pastor

From Wendee Grady, chair of the Staff Parish Relations Committee:

Dear Church Family,

The Staff-Parish Relations Committee is pleased to announce that Bishop Wilson has appointed Rev. Kent Little to serve as our pastor beginning August 1, 2026.

In the United Methodist church, pastoral appointments are prayerfully made each year by the Bishop and Cabinet in consultation with pastors and Staff-Parish Relations Committees. Although this pastoral transition was announced only recently, we were grateful for the opportunity to meet with our District Superintendent to share the guiding values of our congregation and the pastoral gifts we believe are most important for our church’s life and mission. This consultation was an important part of the discernment. We give thanks for God’s guidance throughout this process and trust that God will continue to lead us in this next season of ministry together.

In the coming weeks, we will share more information about Rev. Kent Little and opportunities for you to get to know him when he arrives in August.

Pastor John is securing pastoral coverage while he is away during June. Because we will be between appointments in July, our District Superintendent will work with us to provide pastoral care and pulpit supply for that interim period.

We invite you to pray for both congregations involved in this transition, giving thanks for the ministry that has been shared and trusting God’s lead into the future.

Grace and peace,
Staff-Parish Relations Committee
