Since this coming Sunday is Christ the King Sunday, these two tweets from conservative evangelical scholars are especially relevant:
“If you don’t like diversity, you are going to hate Heaven.” — Dan Dewitt, Director of the Center for Biblical Apologetics & Public Christianity at Cedarville University.
Which was followed by:
“And if you don’t like foreigners, you’d hate the Middle Eastern Aramaic-speaking man on the throne.” — Russel Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission.
We are outsiders who have been brought in by the sheer grace of God in Jesus Christ who was not caucasian, not a citizen of the United States, and did not speak English during his time on earth. He treated the women he encountered in his earthly ministry equals. We need to remember those facts. We forget them at our peril.
