Stanley Hauerwas is a United Methodist who teaches at Duke University and the University of Aberdeen. He was one of my favorite theologians in Seminary, and his thinking still guides mine. In 2001,  he was named “America’s Best Theologian” by Time magazine. He makes a point so simple as to be almost self-evident, but none-the-less often forgotten.
