Kid's Night Out Update

We’ve got 11 kids signed up for our first ever “Kid’s Night Out” on Friday, December 10, 2010, from 5:30 to 8 pm. We’re also looking for adult volunteers to lend a hand. If you have kids you want to sign up you can visit the online registration form or call the church office at 620-251-3240. If you want to volunteer contact Heather Allen, Mary Kai Brandenburg, John Collins, Jenny Collins or the church office at 620-251-3240.

Organ Tuning

The organ tuner will be working on our organ for the next three days (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) and so I’ll be avoiding the office. Feel free to call me on my cell phone.

Giving Thanks

We want to thank everyone who helped with the Great Thanksgiving Dinner. But a special thanks for the many hours and countless contributions of Chuck McFate and Bill Jones.

100 Years of Institute

The summer of 2011 will mark the 100th year of Institute, a summer camp experience for high school youth of the Kansas East Conference held at Baker University.  In commemoration of these milestone, we are trying to compile a list of everyone who has been to Institute in the past.  If you have ever been to Institute, please let the church office know, or make a note on your yellow attendance sheet during worship.  There will be an Institute Alumni day on the day before Institute starts this coming summer.  Watch for more information as the day draws closer.

Some Theater Seats Sold

If you worship in the sanctuary during the 10:50 service today, you may notice some blue tape on some of the theater seats. These have been sold. About a month ago the trustees have made the decision to sell the existing theater seats for $20 each to members and $25 to non-members.* At present we haven’t started advertising them outside of the church, in order to give church members first choice, but that will soon change. If you have a choice seat you want, you need to reserve it now.

*A few other details: 1. We’ll only sell multiple seats in a consecutive manner (e.g. we’ll only sell three seats that are right next to each other, not one from each section). 2. You’ll need to make your own arrangements to pick them up. 3. You’ll need to wait to pick them up until the pews have been installed, but you’ll need to pick them up relatively quickly after that.

Welcome to New Members

Last Sunday (November 21, 2010) we had the joy of welcoming the Jeff, Heather, Amanda and Allie Allen into membership here at Coffeyville First. Be sure and personally welcome them when you get the opportunity.

APB: Grocery Cart

I’m hereby putting out an all points bulletin for the small grocery cart in the lobby. It’s been missing since Friday. Anyone with information as to the carts whereabouts should contact the church office.

Children's Christmas Program

This year the Children’s Christmas Program will be during the 10:50 am worship service on the Sunday before Christmas, Sunday, December 19, 2010.  We will be dressing up and acting out the Christmas story which will be narrated on video.  The program is not limited to children–youth or adults who would like to take part are welcome to join us.  Please let Pastor Jenny know if you know someone that would like to be a part of the program.

Great Thanksgiving Dinner

Just a reminder that the annual Great Thanksgiving Dinner will be held this Sunday, November 21, 2010, immediately following the 10:50 service. The whole congregation is invited and encouraged to attend. Free-will offerings will not be solicited, but will be accepted.
