Lego Batman This Sunday

I’m planning on talking about “The Lego Batman Movie” for the children’s message in our next episode of “The United Methodist Home Companion” this coming Sunday, March 22, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Have you seen the movie? Have your kids seen it? Will anyone else know what I’m talking about? Let me know. (Yes, I do have the Lego Batmobile.)

Youth Super Bowl Subs

The youth will be selling Super Bowl Subs in the Narthex before and after the 8:15 and 10:30 services on January 19 and January 26, 2020. The Sub sandwiches will be $9. Sandwiches can be picked up on February 2 (Super Bowl Sunday) in the narthex (lobby) before and after both worship services. Stop by the table in the narthex to fill out an order and support our Youth! Funds will be used for service projects and special trips.

Youth Lock-In

We will be having the Youth Lock-in on Thursday, January 2, 2020. We will be going to “SKYE” in Salina from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. and then coming back to the church until 8 a.m. on Friday.

If your child is planning on coming, please let Wendy know by Tuesday December 31, 2019, so we can arrange enough transportation. There is no cost for the youth to attend but will need to provide own money for snack and drink while we are at SKYE. Youth are encouraged to bring snacks, drinks, movies, blanket, pillow, etc. for our time at the church. We will have breakfast Friday morning.

If you have any questions contact Wendy Robinson.

College Care Packages

The Youth Group will be accepting donations for the College Care packages beginning next Sunday, October 27 through Sunday, November 17, 2019. Things like ramen noodles, popcorn, pretzels, candy, gum, cookies, cocoa, etc. are welcome. We have 17 college kids to send care packages to this year as they prepare for final exams. If you would like to send them a note of encouragement, we will have a list of students and note cards available in the Narthex in November.

Youth Practice Random Acts of Kindness

This month the youth have been talking about kindness and so last Wednesday, September 18, the youth provided ice cream to people dining at McDonalds and Burger King.

Power & Light Starts This Wednesday

After school Power & Light will begin this Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. Wendy Robinson will meet the kids at the bus stop on 5th and Cedar each day.

Adult volunteers are sought to help with Power & Light and others to teach children’s Sunday School (1 month at a time). Please contact Wendy Robinson if you’re willing to help.
