We have 84 reservations for the Great Thankgiving Dinner this coming Sunday (November 20, 2011). We ordered a few extra meals from Lannings, so if you haven’t yet made reservations there’s still time to let us know at johnandjenny@revcollins.com.

Last Night’s concert in the sanctuary by the Jubilation Quartet raised $502.41 for the Salvation Army. It was a privilege to be part of such a worthy project.

The church office will be closed tomorrow, Friday, November 11, 2011, in observance of Veterans Day. In the future we’ll probably be closed most federal holidays.

So far we have 66 reservations for the great thanksgiving dinner. This year we’re excited to announce that Lannings will be catering, and both ham and turkey will be offered with a variety of sides. If you’re wondering about the cost simply know that donations are not being requested, but will be accepted. This is simply meant to be a time for the church to gather and celebrate the blessings that God has bestowed upon us. Our Church Conference is coming up on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 3:00 pm. Parsons District Church Conferences are being held in clusters this year, so six other churches will be joining us in our building (Church Conferences will be held simultaneously in separate rooms). We’ll begin with a joint service of Holy Communion at 3 pm followed by the individual Church Conferences. Every member of the church is encouraged to attend.

With the retirement of R. E. Layton, the church’s recycling program will end November 17, 2011. After that day we will no longer be accepting materials. (The exception being office paper that has not been shredded, which will still be accepted in the church office.) Our thanks to R.E. Layton and all the other volunteers who helped process and transport the materials we received. If you would like to volunteer to step up and continue this program please notify the church office at 620-251-3240 or mail@coffeyvillefirstumc.org.
