The Choir's Back!
The choir will again be singing this Sunday. The introit will be “Where the Spirit of the Lord Is” and the anthem will be “The Heart of Worship.”

Trustees Begin Formulating Five Year Plan
Tonight members of the Board of Trustees began talking about a rolling five year plan for the church building and parsonage. The point of such a plan would be to anticipate necessary work on the two buildings in order to be better prepared to get it done. Let me know if there’s anything around the church building that you think needs to be put on the list.
Volunteers Needed for Fellowship Coffee Hour

Church Office Closed Tomorrow
The church office will be closed tomorrow (Monday, July 5, 2010) in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday.
Outreach Committee Meeting Tuesday
The Outreach Committee (formerly the Missions Committee) will be meeting Tuesday at 5:15 pm. One of the things we’ll be discussing is how we can best contribute to the Pack Their Packs project.
More Ramblings on Pews
You may have noticed that the “modesty panels” at the front of the sanctuary have been removed. There are several reasons: 1. We can really use the space on a communion Sunday and for manuvering caskets during funeral services. 2. Once the new pews are installed the the modesty panels would no longer match. 3. In a United Methodist sanctuary the first three rows constitute a modesty panel (because no one ever sits there).
In other pew news, someone recently explained to me how pews would be uncomfortable for them, but the theater seats are not. We’re trying to address that issue. Please let us know if you have a medical condition that would make pews untenable.
