I want to thank all of you who sent cards, called and sent up prayers for my recovery. I am blessed so very much that it is overwhelming. God is so good to me that he gave me two churches to love and care for. Plus all the scattered people who put me on their churches’ prayer lists! Our God is AWESOME! Thanks to the ladies who stayed in the office and helped answer questions, I appreciate it.

Please Let Us Know If You Have a Key
If you have a key to the main entrance of the church or to the elevator please let us know. We don’t need it back, but we do need to make sure that we have a comprehensive list of who has keys to what. You can email Linda at linda@coffeyvillefirstumc.org or call 620-251-3240.
Temporary Office Hours
For the remainder of this week, and through the end of next week (October 9, 2009) Linda Beever, our intrepid church Secretary will be in the office from 7:30 to 11 am. The week after that she hopes to return to work full time.
Food Pantry Sunday
This Sunday is Food Pantry Sunday. Items that are especially needed include: green beans, corn, peas, canned fruit, soup, pork and beans, tuna, jello, rice, dry beans, peanut butter, crackers, cereal, macaroni and cheese. Cash donations give us flexibility by allowing us to purchase necessary items. We’re also going to try a new schedule for moving the pantry shopping cart around to different entries. The first Sunday of the month it will be in the main lobby, the second Sunday in the south entry of the Sanctuary, the third Sunday in the east entry of the Sanctuary, and the fourth Sunday in the east basement entry. Any month in which their is a fifth Sunday it will probably be moved back to the main lobby.
