I’ve always appreciated the fact that early Christian thinkers set the bar for discipleship high. I find that I need something to aim for if I’m ever to make any progress. It’s in that spirit that I’m sharing the following:
“The bread in your cupboard belongs to the hungry; the coat hanging unused in your closet belongs to those who need it; the shoes rotting in your closet to the one who has no shoes. The money which you hoard up belongs to the poor.” — Basil of Caesarea
