Camp and Back Again

cross in handsJenny, Liz, Austin, Malorie, Audrey, Miller and Jack are coming home from Camp Horizon today. The children and youth went because they have a lot of fun. Jenny went to serve as a camp minister because United Methodist pastors support the connection in a variety of ways.

What little I know indicates that this batch had a great time and everything I’ve heard from those who have already been to camp and back this summer has been positive. I thank God for children and youth who want to go, parents who are willing to part with them, a church able to provide camp scholarships and for the opportunity that a week of camp provides for children and youth to grow in the knowledge and love of God. I’ll try to get you a hard number on the number of campers from First this year.

P.S. Kudos to anyone who caught the Lord of the Rings reference in the title of this post.

Updated: It’s been pointed out that the primary reference for “Camp and Back Again” is The Hobbit and not The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
