More on Health Care Reform

Bishop Jones’ article on health care reform may have been in response to Nancy Pelosi giving some of the credit for the passage of health care reform to the United Methodist Church. It should be noted that the United Methodist Church only speaks officially once every four years at general conference (last held in 2008) and did not endorse any particular legislation. As for the specific legislation approved last night, United Methodist Congressional Representatives who votes “aye” were outnumbered by those United Methodists who voted “ney.” The United Methodist News Service has more information.
